THE VICAR'S WIFE AND THE MASTIFF

Post by theoldgit » August 11th, 2010, 12:54 am

Now I know this sounds like the first line of an old joke but read on,earlier tonight i was just sitting here chilling as you do ,when there was a knock on the door ,it was the vicars wife in a bit of a state,it turned out that her son had left his bull mastiff dog with her as he was away on bussiness so being a kind lady she decided to take the dog for a walk....now not being familiar with this breed she put the lead on the dog and opened the back gate ,and when she got back on her feet the old boy had gone ,so she has got a right flap on .I stayed at home to man the phone while johno, jack and tina went with her to find said dog, what we did nt know was that she had already called the police who had sent the dog handlers out to assist,so we now have an army of people all out looking for the errant dog, after about an hour a sighting was made at the local rugby ground some 3 miles from the vicarage, the dog crew were first on the scene and contained the old boy and rung us to go and fetch him back, they gave johno tina and the vicars wife a rendezvous point and they all then carried on to the rugby ground traffic was rather heavy so the squad car driver put on the twos and blues and escorted the old volvo to the scene, the dog the vicars wife johno and tina are all now safe and sound back home..............I think we may even get a mention in sundays sermon, but we wont hear it as we will be at aces, thought id just share that little bit of news with you all..............bye for now,see you all sunday god bless

I saw something on the Chat Room, so glad it turned out well, Norfolk Police sound like they are alot better at judging a dogs character it could have been a different ending. So glad the dog was found safe and well and is at home (vicarage) enjoying cream teas and cake. :nana: :nana: :nana: :nana: :nana:

No Probs John Snr I like to think this forum is all for positive comments/thinking. Don't get me wrong if someone is out line I will let them know, but no good having a bad forum with negative comments - its for all to Enjoy. Also by posting these stories we can all learn from them. :peace:  :peace:
