Post by Eve » June 8th, 2010, 4:45 pm

Took stella to the vets for her boosters yesterday and general mot, the vet mentioned that her back legs were a bit creaky, and something about cartlidge build up. She said we should be giving her joint supplements but I cant remember what she said to take, she said u can use human ones? The vet wrote it down but my other half didnt pick it up i dont wanna call and look like an idiot.

any suggestions or advice on what you guys have used.

Hi Eve,

I would recommend 'Joint Aid' a friend of mine had a GSD with hip problems (he was about 10 years old) and after he'd been on this joint aid for a little while, he was walking about again with no problems.....

Here's the link to the joint aid website:

There's another sort of thing made by pedigree, I don't really know much about it, but I've heard its good..

I use joint aid for mine, they haven't got joint issues but serving it to them still helps anyways.

Hope this helps :)

Hi Eve,

Years ago I was recommended "Glucosamine Chondroitin & MSM" by my vet to treat knee problems our old dog had. After seeing the results in my dog I tried some for my own knee pain and it worked wonders. You can by this most places but here's a link to Holland and Barretts.

I hope this helps.
